Increasing Yield By 30% Through
Precision Agriculture

United Nations predicts that food production will have to increase by 70% to feed a population of 9.6 billion worldwide. This poses a challenge to most countries that are already struggling with food security in the face of unpredictable weather patterns. Traditional farming methods that relies on manual labor has been hardest hit with yields staying stagnant or dropping.

In Central Java, Atilze has begun to deploy smart agriculture sensors with the potential to increase rice yields by 30% – 50% and up to 50% water savings. This is made possible through the System of Rice Intensification (SRI). The process includes alternating between wet and dry soil conditions, which requires precise measurement of soil moisture to determine
the optimal water amount. Besides soil moisture, the agriculture sensors also track secondary parameters like soil pH, EC, air temperature and humidity.

Through precision agriculture, farmers can increase yields without expanding land area; even maintain food production in difficult conditions through water efficiency.

*Our sensor hub is flexible enough to change and suit other applications such as orchard, shrimp and fish farm
